Let's get ready! This week and next is practice week!
We have one of the most state-of-the-art news control rooms on the way to Eagle TV. Once set up and everyone is trained, Eagle TV will be incredible! I'm looking at one of the best fast-paced, graphic-heavy, informative and entertaining news shows EVER!
I have some ideas. Of course, your news packages will air; the ones you've already produced. But I would like to have some shorter pieces. Some funny ones, some serious live interviews, some teaching-type pieces, etc.
Here is Kell's second show show http://www.schooltube.com/video/68b640a8643f5cb05774/Hay-Kell-show-2
And here is Allatoona's show:
Although, I don't condone too much silliness, a little is okay. Here are some of my ideas:
--An on-set interview called "Eagle Flap", or something like that, on topics that are current. Usually an interview with a staff member who knows a little about this topic.
--Student opinion poll..."Heard from the Bird" on current events.
--"We have Class" A segment on the interesting things we are learning in our classes, or a segment on how to do a certain math or science problem.
--Word to the Wise...a poll to see if students know a word, (funny answers) then the definition. (kind of an SAT word of the week or something like that.)
--"Say What?" a feature on something funny like a question that has no right or wrong answer, most mispronounced words, funny trivia, etc.
--Around Town, a feature on a new place to eat or place to go
--This day in History, a filler....usually without video that we can use on short news days.
--Healthy Choice, a fitness and health segment. Could also feature some type of medical segment
--Read Any Good Books Lately? , a segment about what students and staff are reading right now
--Where are We?, A segment in a different part of the campus that not everyone has seen before (particularly timely with the construction)
--Before They Were Teachers, a segment on what teachers did before, well, they were teachers!
--Talon Talent, a spotlight on someone who has an unusual talent
--Pimp my Locker, spotlight someone's locker that is especially decked out
--Life Lessons, Students who have learned life lessons like getting to class on time, solving arguments, completing homework on time, etc.
--Dress Code Diva - a segment on dress code rules hosted by someone who is a diva.
--Laughter is the Best Medicine - a funny segment such as the birthday segment from Kell.
--???? What's your idea?
Come up with some segment ideas and a solid idea on how to produce it. It must be able to be produced in one week. Only a 30-40 second segment and it's needs an Open (5-10 seconds).
In order to do this show, we'll have to be sure to be really polished production-wise. We'll need to be able to think quickly on our feet, be able to be sharp on the air while questioning people and have a good sense of timing.
What do you think?
I think these are great ideas for segments i think we should also have a segment on sports that includes scores and if possible clips from games during the week
ReplyDeleteFor a segment, I really liked the "This Day in History..." instead, it'd be cool to ask the person "Do you remember what happened a year ago last year?" Most people are not good with dates, I sure am. I'm able to go back as 2 years, what happened in my days.

i am very excited about this. it sounds interesting. I cannot wait until we begin
ReplyDeleteThis actually excites me! I want to be above and beyond because I know what the Eagle TV Broadcasting Program is capable of. Of course with the help of our wonderful intructor Mrs.Watson. She is a dedicated teacher that has the experiece, dedication and strive to push us to a great show this year! We must come together and work harder than ever and put forth the effort to be the best!
ReplyDeleteI believe we should put something like how Kell high school did use coach corner. We should hype up a up and coming game and go around school and ask what will the outcome of the game will be and maybe we can even sit down with a coach and he can tell use something special about his players that can benefit them to win

A really good segment would be "Word On The Street" or "60 Seconds", in this segment we would spend one minute and cover the top ten things to happen that week, whether it be around school or a part of pop culture... we'd cover it. Another really good segment would be "Hey, You There!", in this segment we would highlight a student or faculty member that is really good at what they do, however the purpose is to see what kind of jobs they do... so for the faculty it would be interesting to see what kind of jobs they had when they were teens.
ReplyDeleteWe can do a segment where the star player of a certain sport plays one-on-one with a teacher or administrator!
ReplyDeleteThat would be really interesting to see who wins!
We can show them playing and have the score at the bottom. And whoever wins, gets a prize from us?
I really believe this would be fun and would get everybody excited about Eagle TV ! We should try it!
i think for a segment; ''daily question from eagle tv'' to see if the show was watched in class and if they get it right then they when something special. i think that idea is good to make sure they watch the show because some teachers dont allow their class to watch it
ReplyDeletei would like the new control room and the bright ideas we can come up with too make eagle tv a better place, for as new prduction and not only that but still love what you put together and having fun at the same time! Thats what its all about.

ReplyDeleteAn idea I have for a segment would be a person asking students if they knew the lyrics to popular songs both from the present and the past. It would be some what similar to the tv show "Don't forget the lyrics", but excluding an audience and prizes. Instead of one person being asked the lyrics to a song, the segment would have about 4 students being asked the lyrics of the same song.

I think it would be cool to do a segment on someone who has an unusal talent .It would always be differnet and people might suprise

i think these are good ideas for segments but, we should also include segments about musician at our school. IIt would be interesting.
ReplyDeleteI think this is a really good idea.
ReplyDeleteI think we should do a word of the day for a segment.
ReplyDeletesadly my schedule with both math and science postpones me from broadcasting this semester, I will put it as my number one for next year, I am currenty playing around with my camera, in which I gave you one of my first works. You can in fact talk to Ms.Guisti (I think that's how you spell it...) about my 15 minute WWII video. I will probably work on a summer vid as well as a Christmas film, also, if you ever get time to watch the ending to my film, and read all of this :p tell me if you think I should make a sequel, reboot, or entirely new story to begin filming in September. Thank you for your time...
