The beginning of a new semester and the new year does wonders to erase the past, start anew and motivate us to begin with a clean slate. Whether it's because you have a New Year's Resolution or you just promise yourself that you'll do better....here's your chance!
Our video production semester promises to be a busy one. You'll have 4 news packages to produce, 5 outside projects, a short documentary, a presentation on one of your news stories, a senior video segment, weekly blogging, bi-monthly news stories and other assignments as they come up. You only have 18 weeks to complete this, on deadline, with a high level of mastery.
Whoa!...you say? How on Earth will I be able to accomplish this? You can do this! I promise. I'll walk you through it all. I have made a new resolution myself and that is to spend more instructional time with you. You'll just have to hold up your end of the bargain to keep yourself motivated and in pursuit of excellence for yourself. Everything you put your name on should be the best you can do. Always.
So...on your mark, get set, let's go! Tell me what will keep you motivated this semester to stay on track, on deadline, and on target. What will you ask of yourself? How will you improve every package, every blog, every story idea, every interview and every editing session every time?
Can't wait to hear your responses. The race is on!
To keep myself motivated I will have to think cautiously throughout this semester. Also, while making sure that I get a reasonable amount of sleep in preparation for the next day. Based on what I felt last semester you were fine with me, Mrs. Watson. I just, as you said, have to keep up my end of the bargain.

Yay, I'm first to comment. I'm already starting my last semester of high school & last semester in your class off right! (: This semester what will keep me motivated is knowing obviously this is my last semester and i want to produce and edit amazing packages that you'll be able to show to your next advanced classes as they come along. As for the deadline part you might have to keep all of us on point for that! We all know Senior DVD is the biggest money getter for you every year so if anything that has to be beyond 'on point!' I'm so excited to do tha senior DVD because hello, i'm a senior! Lol! I'm going to cherish everyday in your class because if it wasn't for you and Mrs. Medley I'd still be stuck in spanish two! (: I Love You!

Well, I'm excited because I'm finally into the good class. I mean, I can tell that some of your students think that most of your fourth block students from last semester didn't learn anything. I'm determined to prove them wrong. I'll keep myself motivated by knowing that you give a large amount of freedom and chances to express yourself. Not alot of teachers do that, so I'll be happy to know that your class is where I have free range (somewhat). I also know that this is a busy semester for you, and you have many big projects.I want to try to make you proud. :] Besides, it'd be cool to be able to do things outside of school with the techniques I learned in your classes. Plus, you've already been a big influence in my life and I don't want to disappoint you.
ReplyDeleteThe motivation for this semester is to go out wiht a bang. Senior year , no longer a freshman & no longer a newbie in the class. I understand how to edit & shoot footage so much better now. So i'm looking forward to showcasing my skills to you & the class .
ReplyDeleteI'm really looking forward to Eagle Tv this semester . We have an incredible family that is so talented & smart when it comes to packages . I, myself will try to think outside the norm . Motivation this semester would be Senior DVD . I'm kinda anxious to get started, because i'm ready to show everybody how well i can edit . I'm really looking forward to this semester .
ReplyDeleteSince this is my last semester in broadcast video production I plan on using a tripod in all my packages. I will use all my skills that I have learned from the previous 5 classes. Being that I am the only person in level 6 it is my duty to show others how to succeed and make it to the top of the food chain.
ReplyDeleteI'm really excited about this semester, i'm very on top of things and i'm positive it will stay that way. I think it might be because i'm so close to graduating, and just want to keep pushing forward. I'm definetly not procrasting, so the deadline shouldn't be a problem. I'm going to do my best and do it as soon as possible. I'm going to get into the mind-set of being more creative with everything i do, so that will hopefully help with the packages, blogs, story ideas, and everything that brings it all together.

ReplyDeleteThe new semester for me, is a tough one. I am taking math and chemistry, which are two very difficult subjects for me. However, I will study, focus and concentrate in and out the classroom, so i will be able to succeed in both the class, and in my extracurricular activities. (JV Basketball.) To improve on my packages and etc., I will review over my previous ones, and make sure not to make the same mistakes, so that the new package is better than the last.
ReplyDeleteThis semester i decided to become the yes man. The yes man includes saying yes to most new oppurtunities, that present themself. However some activities are excluded. Other than that I hope for the best out of this semester.
